Video card for DL 380 G3

I would like to update the graphics card in this unit. I am using it to run virtual machines and would like more video resources. Will any PCI 1/2 height card work?

If it is running virtual machines... why would you need more video resources?

What hypervisor are you running?

Re: Video card for DL 380 G3

Virtual Server 2005. Correct me if I am wrong, but don't the VM use all resources of the host? I have 3 VM's running XP that are accessed by thin clients in our Nevada branch. The thin clients use 22" monitors to meet the requirements of our new SAP rollout. When I have all 3 thin clients connected to their VM's, the video will "fill-in" line by line. They have plenty of memory resources, so I figured either video or network. I am going to upgrade the nic to a dual 1000T card to see if that helps, but I am wondering if the high resolution needed for the monitors is maxing out the video card on the DL380

Re: Video card for DL 380 G3

So, you are running Windows then? Which version? How much memory is in the box?

And on top of thet Virtual Server 2005?

and indide VS2005, the 3 vm's?

Just trying to make sure I understand the environment.

I don't think video resources are going to help you.

What else is the server running? just Virtual Server 2005?
