Video card for Proliant 1600

I have a Proliant 1600 that I would like to purchase a video card for but I'm not sure what make and model would be compatible. Any suggestions would be very appreciated! Thank you, Cheryl

Re: Video card for Proliant 1600

Hi,

You do realize that the 1600 has an intergrated video board, right?

I have looked over many resources on the 1600 and found no mention of an add-on video option. Even if you had a video board to install, I didn't find any info on how you would disable the on-board video.

If it were me, I would try any old pci video board I had laying around to see what happens.

Sorry I could give you better info.

Re: Video card for Proliant 1600

Here's the thing, I installed a program on the 1600 that doesn't display correctly without using 1024x768. The onboard video only allows at most 800x600. Is that all it's capable of or maybe I don't have the correct driver installed? Thank you so much for your help!

There are two different intergrated video controllers in the 1600.
Cirrus Logic CL-54M30
Cirrus Logic CL-5446B

This is what the docs says it supports

Pentium II and III
Integrated 1024 x 768, 256 color non-interlaced on PCI local bus, 1-MB video memory

Try going to the HP support site and do a search on one of the two controllers

Good Luck
