Virtual memory problem with 64 bit Oracle 10g Win 2003 server
HP DL385 2CPU dual core Opteron with 16G memory
Windows 2003 server 64 bit. When Oracle starts up it allocates 6G of virtual memory even though there is plenty of physical memory available. Virtual memory is not being released and eventually reaches about 18G and stops all processes. This only occurs on the box with the Opteron processors. The same servers with Intel processors do not have this problem. Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

Re: Virtual memory problem with 64 bit Oracle 10g Win 2003 server
thanks for this information, we will try the settings suggested in the HP document. The problem with virtual memory is not however addressed by this fix. Any other Opteron users encounter this issue?
