WMI encountered a problem and needed to close

Hello there,

I have couple of DL 360 servers, when logged in, I get the following message:
"WMI encountered a problem and needed to close" pops up continually for about eight times.

Please help.

Hello,
I ave googled it too, but no specific solution.
Tried restarting WMI service, still the same issue.

I was having this problem as well on different servers. I found that when I was installing the PSP 8.10 on the machines through HP SIM it was installing the optional component "HP Insight Management WBEM Providers for Windows Server 2003/2008" which I do not want installed since they have always been buggy for me. They seem to be the source of the WMI error messages on the systems I was having this issue with. So to resolve the issue, I uninstalled this and then I would run the following commands from a CMD window.
winmgmt /clearadap
winmgmt /kill
winmgmt /unregserver
winmgmt /regserver
winmgmt /resyncperf

This seems to resolve my issues. Hope it helps.

if that's the case and you are not using "HP Insight Management WBEM Providers for Windows Server 2003/2008" you can try uninstall them from Add/remove programs

Could one you who feels the problem is due to wbem providers provide me the snapshot/details of the WMI error message?

Here are the screenshots that I have. I would also like to note that the resolution I added in a previous message only works about 80% of the time for me.

I wish HP would fix the support pack installer so that it does not install optional components that do not exist on the machine.
