I have a compaq prolient ML350 and I'm trying to enable the wake on lan. I understand that you have to go int the system bios to enable wol.
I got into the bios using the smartstart disk but couldn't recognise anything that refers to wake on lan.
Could anyone assist please in telling me how i enable this setting?
Thanks

Re: Wake on Lan
RBSU manual enabling wake-on land
page 18 and 19. Wake on land
http://urlao.com/rbsumanual
if you dont get that option, try updating the BIOS
but also let us know the Generation you have to check if that is supported in that server

If I'm reading the manual correctly then to enable wol, i don't need to go into the bios?
Thanks

Re: Wake on Lan
in the latest servers like dl380 g5
the wake on land option needs to be enable on RBSU (BIOS)
like you can see on the manual I linked
but I think because your server is a G1
you need to get into the BIOS which is different from G5s (see attached file)
if so you need to run the Compaq System Configuration Utility (SCU) yo get into BIOS and check Hw options
http://urlao.com/CSCU
regards
just let us know

Re: Wake on Lan
I've checked and my pc is acpi compliant, when i go into control panel>power i noted that pc doesn't appear to support hibernation (no hibernation tab nor options to set a time after which the machine hibernates).
The same is true for system standby so i presume that without these options wake on lan isn't going to work?
I downloaded the cofiguration but when I tried to boot from the floppy i get a message at startup "remove disks or other media"
Thanks
