Warm-Boot-Problem h240 in a proliant ml150g9
Hallo,
since a few days I have a problem with rebooting an proliant ml 150 G9-Server, initialisation of the controller h240 seems to fail, the server not seeing harddisks now tries to boot from network. Cold boot works, the server is then running fine. Havent found any error messages. What can I do?
Regards
Traugott

Re: Warm-Boot-Problem h240 in a proliant ml150g9
Hi Traugott,
Do you see any lockup code on the H240 during POST?
Recommended to upgrade the server with the latest BIOS version and H240 Controller firmware.
There are multiple fixes in the H240 controller firmware.
Upgrading the firmware should resolve the issue.
Regards,
KK

Hallo,
sad to say, the problem is not resolved. Have problems to reboot the server,
only cold-boot via ILO works.

Re: Warm-Boot-Problem h240 in a proliant ml150g9
Hallo, a lot of people have read my posts,
but it seems no one can help. There is no lockup code, when the server fails to boot correctly, You ca only see from the LED`s of the drives, that they are not working. The server directly tries to boot from network. I have looked in the IML log, which has actuallys no error entrys when the server boots not correct und found older entrys concerning the problem.

The first log concerning the controller occurred during updating the driver ( date 9/16/2019 ), the second one during Reboot after applying Oktober-Updates for windowsserver 2012R2 ( date 9/29/2019 ). What should I do now? Go back to the older driver-firmware? Change the controller? Change the motherbord?
Other?
Kind regards
Traugott

Re: Warm-Boot-Problem h240 in a proliant ml150g9
Hallo KK ,
now the problem has worsened and the server has problems with cold boot too. I have changed the controller, had to reconfigure the raid-system. The server runs fine now and has no problem with reboots.

Traugott
