What PDU (Power Distribution Unit), should I be using.

Hi,
We are going to recieve the following HP servers(25).
Make/Quantity
HP-DL360/8
HP-DL380/2
HP-DL560/1
HP-DL580/6
HP-rx4640/8
We have an APC(AP7951) Switched Rack PDU 16A. We can power upto 21 servers using this PDU. But I am worried about it's capacity (16A).

Please help/suggest me to determine how many PDU's would be required.
Or rather how do I determine the amount of current in amperes that each server consumes, which would help me decide capacity of the PDU required.

Thanks & Regards,

Re: What PDU (Power Distribution Unit), should I be using.

Hi,

Rated Input Current 5.85 Amps (100 V) to 2.85 Amps (200 V).

Does it mean that I can connect only 5 HP DL360 G4 servers using a 16A PDU.

Please suggest.

Thanks & Regards,

Higher number for "A" more receptacles can be used with Extension Bars.
"Amps" it"s like a river with water: you can split and join stream, still same amount, if you push more fuse will blow; if you draw or load more it wont start or breaker switch turns off
"A" it's load on the segment that can be handled

To understand more see notes like:

NOTE: The 16A model ships with 2 Extension Bars, while all other 24-40A models ship with 4 Extension Bars.

Input: 2m attached cord with IEC320- C20.Output: Each Bar has 8 C13 outlets(10A max per outlet, 12A max per Bar).
