Solution* ProLiant DL (Density Line)
* ProLiant ML (Maximum Expansion)
* ProLiant BL (Blades)
* ProLiant SL (Scalable Line)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: What does DL ML SL and BL stands for?
Thanks, but for ML you said Maximum Expansion. I think HP should change this name from ML to ME.
Any idea why they call it ML?

Re: What does DL ML SL and BL stands for?
If 'L' is for Line, then BL stands for Blades Line. :)

Re: What does DL ML SL and BL stands for?
ML = Used to be Tower models only.
DL = 'Dems the rack models...
SL = Stuff'em full of goodies.
The L I believe is for 'Liant' in ProLiant.
It used to be that the difference between a DL and ML server was the rack-mount kit.
(Take a ML, lay it on its side, replace the front, remove the legs and a few panels, and you had a DL)
Before that, when the servers were Compaq ProLiant, they had such beautiful names like ProLiant 1500 or 6400R, and you KNEW that the 'R' meant a Rack-mounted version of the server.
(Not certain about the ProSignia or earlier SystemPro servers as we only had tower models of those, and they were installed before my time.)
