What is the correct patch order

Wondering if Firmware comes before Software or is it the other way around? Does it matter at all? I have DL365 G1 and G5's to patch.
Thanks!

Re: What is the correct patch order

Normally, it doesn't really matter, but...

There's ALWAYS exceptions to this. Especially on Firmware, read the release notes and make certain that they don't list intermediate versions(text like "If upgrading from v1.4x or earlier, you must first upgrade to v2.1.5 before upgrading to the current revision" is a big warning that 'this may break your device") or other dependencies.

And yes, you may find that "driver V3.xx needs FW V2.6x or newer to operate correctly" too.
Again, read the release notes to verify if it'll run. If the difference is that SNMP management of the server won't work for the few minutes before the updates are in order, it won't matter. If the difference is that "you break all Disk arrays, you're hosed", though...

Caveat Emptor...
