What tape to use in 4/16GB Turbo DAT drive
I have a Compaq 4/16GB Turbo DAT Drive in a Proliant 2500 Server. Currently I am using 4/8 backup tapes, but now need to use larger tapes since I am backing up more than 8 GB of data. I tried 12-24 Black Watch tapes, but the drive will not accept them. What tape should I be using to backup more than 8 GB? Thanks, Tom

Re: What tape to use in 4/16GB Turbo DAT drive
This drive does NOT support DDS-3 or larger tapes... It's a DDS-2 drive and the limitation is physical. There is no way to guarantee more than about 8GB per tape with this type of drive (16GB was an "ideal" maximum, the cartridge is not the issue, compression of the data is - some data simply doesn't compress well at all).
