Whats the best way to wipe a SCSI disk on ProLiant DL380

We are selling off our old kit and I need to wipe the SCSI disks prior to the servers being sold to one of our other companies.

Is there a tool which I can use, usually on desktops I use disk tools to wipe the drive and write zeros.

But those tools cant see out SCSI drives for some reason.

http://www.dban.org/about seems to be a good tool for securely wiping disks.

Quite possibly that is beacuse the tool does not have the drivers for the SCSI controller.

Asks the same thing but for an ML350.

Some seems to recommend running dd on a linux machine.

See http://www.sunmanagers.org/pipermail/summaries/2004-September/005686.html for more examples.

The disks on your DL380 are probably attached to a raid controller. No software tools or drivers can see the disks behind a raid controller, the OS itself can not see the disks either. The disks are attached to a separate system, which is the raid controller. The OS sees whatever logical drives the raid controller presents out.

You would need to attach the disks to a simple scsi controller and only then they would be seen by the OS or any erasing tools.
