Where is the "Networking flexibility in HP ProLiant Gen8 servers with FlexibleLOM technology” paper?

Hi everyone! :-)

This is my first post here in the HPE Community forums (I must say that I find it to be quite confusing the forum navigation here).

The "Locating HP ProLiant and HP BladeSystem technical white papers - Networking flexibility in HP ProLiant servers with FlexibleLOM technology  document (available at http://h20565.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03405579&lang=en-us&cc=us) mentions the following:

" The “Networking flexibility in HP ProLiant Gen8 servers with FlexibleLOM technology” technical white paper is located in the HP Enterprise Library at
http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=4AA4-6708ENW&doctype=white%20paper&doclang=EN_US&searchquery=&cc=us&lc=en "

HOWEVER, if I click on that link, I get to an "Oops!" web page (basically, a cute 404 Not Found page).

I tried to replace "hp.com" by "hpe.com" on that URL, but it also points to a non-existing web page.

Google also has the following URL for that document:

http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/getpdf.aspx/4AA4-6708ENW.pdf?ver=2.0

... but that redirects to https://www.hpe.com/us/en/404.html which has the Heading "404: That Page Cannot Be Found". Replacing "hp.com" by "hpe.com" in the previous URL also points to a 404 Not Found web page.

The "Implementing SR-IOV on HPE ProLiant Servers with VMware vSphere 5.1 " - that is available at https://www.hpe.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA6-3282ENW.pdf - mentions, in a "Note" located at the end of "Page 4", the following:

" For additional information on FlexibleLOM technology refer to the white paper, Networking flexibility in HPE
ProLiant servers with FlexibleLOM technology, available at hpe.com/V2/getpdf.aspx/4AA4-6708ENW.pdf "

That "hpe.com/V2/getpdf.aspx/4AA4-6708ENW.pdf" link text actually points to http://h20195.www2.hpe.com/V2/getpdf.aspx/4AA4-6708ENW.pdf Can you guess what happens when you click on that link? That's right! You are also redirected to the "404 Not Found" web page - https://www.hpe.com/us/en/404.html :-(

I have also tried, by "guesswork", the URL https://www.hpe.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA4-6708ENW.pdf but that also returns the "404 Not Found" web page.

Does anyone know where has HP / HPE "hidden" the “Networking flexibility in HP ProLiant Gen8 servers with FlexibleLOM technology” (4AA4-6708ENW.pdf) technical white paper?!

Thanks in advance! :-)

Cheers,

Hi Ricardo. Totally agree with you...I found it a little bit too hierarchical and it's difficult to move from a category to another without going up to the catergories' root...plus there isn't a common structure always shown on the page's top (independently from where you currently are)...so with a click on a right link you're done.

Regarding your question: is totally possible that during the transition ("Technical white papers for HP ProLiant and HP BladeSystem products that were located in the HP Business Support Center and HP Support Center are being migrated to the HP Enterprise Library. During this transition, you could have difficulty finding a white paper.") some documents were totally left behind in a limbo...probably that transition didn't really ended.

I'm also curious about that...for other documents I was looking for and, exactly as you, I didn't found.

Hi @parnassus,

Thank you very much for your quick reply :-) You have summed up, quite nicely, the main difficulties that I'm having navigating / browsing the forums here at the HPE Community.

I also thank you for reporting that you found out that some other HP technical documents have apparently disappeared (for now?) during the transition/migration from HP Business Support Center and HP Support Center to the HP Enterprise Library.

Let's hope that the missing technical documents reappear eventually. It would be nice to have some place to report or ask HPE about missing technical documents / white papers (or other resources).
