Where windows dump file ?

Hi all!

I have Proliant DL380 server with Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4. My server crashes every week with STOP error 0xD1. But i cannot find where windows dump file. I search entire disk for *.dmp file - no results. I turned off all "HP insights ..." and "Compaq .." services - it does't help.

Help please!

Have you checked the dump setting in the "start up and recovery" Advanced Tab Page?

If you find them, you can use windbg to analyze them...

Yes, i checked this settings -
1) write debugging information to file - %systemroot%\memory.dmp,
2) complete memory dump
3) overwite existing file

Hi,

what i can suggest can you post the dump full error code and the information plus the file name mentioned on the same dump screen.
Where as if you want to analyise you can use dumpcheck.exe from microsoft. Remeber it is not included in os so get it from web (free). then refer to you dump file it will do.
The file location can be verifeid by following process.
right click ->my computer-> advance--> startup and recovery (setting button), then it will show the dump location.

i have the same problem could any one help us ! i have HP ML370 Server with w2k3 Sp1 the windows restarts un expectedly but i cannot the find the dump file
