Which SAS Controller for external tape streamer in DL120 G5?

Which SAS Controller for external tape streamer in DL120 G5?

There are two posibble SAS controllers: SC08e (with 6 GBit speed) and the SC44Ge (with 3 GBit speed). Only the SC44Ge has the DL120 G5 on the compatibility list. Can I also use the SC08e with the DL120 G5?
