Which SATA driver(s) should I choose?
I just bought a ML 110 G4, with only one hard disk (no RAID config).
I am very frustrated with the installation of Windows: after pressing F6, I chose to load 'Adaptic SATA driver for Windows' and 'Intel STAT AHCI Controller (Desktop)' from floppy disks, but the installation application still won't work after that...
Did I miss something? What else should I load?
Thanks!

Re: Which SATA driver(s) should I choose?
same problem many people have.
after you have create your dikette containing the right driver, it's better you prepare a bootable cd of your OS containing all the driver you need.
so you haven't to press F6 to pass other driver during the installation process.
at the second reboot, installing windows, windows itself disable the USB port.
the easyest way to do so is:
connect to
www.nliteos.com
download the installer.
follow the instruction to create your own bootable OS cd containig all the driver you need.
after you created the cd, proceed with you installation.
enjoy.
Bye.

Re: Which SATA driver(s) should I choose?
Thank you for your reply. That seems to be a cool tool, but in fact the floppy disk drive works for me, so I think using a floppy disk to load the driver should be easier...
My issue is that I don't know which driver(s) to choose... Follows is the list of storage drivers provided by HP:
* HP 4/8 Internal Port SAS HBA with RAID Driver for Windows Server 2003
* HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003
* HP ProLiant Smart Array Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003
* Intel├В┬о SATA AHCI Controller Driver
* Intel├В┬о Embedded Server RAID
Since I only have one hard disk, I guess that I should choose "HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003"? It got loaded properly, but the Windows installer stopped later with a blue screen. So I wonder if my choice is correct?
If it's really not clear, then should I burn all of the above drivers to the setup CD?

Re: Which SATA driver(s) should I choose?
I think is the "embedded SATA RAID controller for windows 2003 server" if you are running that OS.
otherwise, loading all the driver do not cause malfunctioning.
onl the driver needed will be used.
but, I think as I said,
the right one is the embedded SATA RAID.
obviously, take a look, also, at the BIOS setting.
I hope this will be useful for you.
the quick spec of your system are at that link:

Have a nice evening.

Re: Which SATA driver(s) should I choose?
BTW, I found that the HDD can be recognized by the Windows ME rescue floppy disk. I booted using it and even created partitions and formated the HD. But unfortunately this doesn't do any help to the setup...

Re: Which SATA driver(s) should I choose?
let me say:
as I suggested to another people, if there are not enough information about the controller you have, it's easier to ry to install, for the first time, the OS using an IDE HD.
after of that, with the OS installed, try to install the appropriate driver.
as soon as you discovered the right one, detach the IDE HD and proceed with the installation using the right driver, as explained .
Bye.
