Which drive is which in Smart Array E200i

On one of our systems' hpacucli reporting the following:

Smart Array E200i in Slot 0 (Embedded) array A (Failed) logicaldrive 1 (68.3 GB, RAID 1)

Which disk is it? Is it the top one or the bottom one?

Thanks for reply. It's for a ProLiant BL460c G1, see the attached picture.

It should be the top one. (page 6)

Are there any failure lights on the top drive? If not, do you see activity lights only on the bottom drive and nothing on the top drive? That would confirm it is the top drive.

Also, if you have ACU installed in this server you can run ACU and turn on the identity light of the good drive. I don't remember if it is in the GUI but it is a CLI option. page 50

Re: Which drive is which in Smart Array E200i

Actually slot 0 here refers to the internal i/o mezzanine slot where the E200 array is plugged in and not the disk slot. There is no mention of a physical disk failure, only of logical drive 1. Of course in this server both disks are bound into array A with one logical drive.

You have to check with ACU to find out exactly what the failure is.

Hi Szymon,

It reporting the logical drive and not the phisical drive, use the Array configuration utility to find out which drive in the array has the issue.
