Whole Server and iLO is slowing down, because of big iLO AHS Log
Yesterday the SIM Server notified that one of the iLO is no longer reachable.
Trying to reach the iLO Web Console shows a very very slow responding.
Than we see troubles with the Virtual Servers, as with the ESX itself.
Also we see that the Fans of this Server are running on Full Speed.
Moved all VM's from Server away and did Power Off and On.
Server and iLO both are still nearly freezed.
Open a Call, Support need an iLO AHS Log.
As we try to get the AHS Log, we see it has 840MB Size.
We decide to Clear the Log and at this second the Fans are going down and the Server get this Performance back.
Then we check the other identical ESX Servers and see also AHS Logfiles from 600 - 700MB Size.
Now cleared and disabled AHS on every Server.
The Support was not willing to search for the Issue or ask the Backline for a known Bug.
All Servers are DL380 Gen8 with iLO Firmware 2.0

Re: Whole Server and iLO is slowing down, because of big iLO AHS Log
A large AHS log file is not uncommon. I'd say the power cycle of the system cleared whatever condition the system was in and it had nothing to do with the size of the AHS log. The iLO operates seperately from the server CPU.

Oh, it seems a ilo bug, I found that the latest ILO Firmware 2.10 has something to do with the AHS Log support, you should have a try on it, hope this do help you!

Can you point me to the information you found that shows an AHS log related bug that v2.10 fixes? I don't see any mention of it under the 'Fixes' section for v2.10
