Will ML115 (ML1XX servers) accept non ECC memory?

I want to buy a ML115 as my home server. Cheap for a server and it works with VMWare ESX (drivers on HP ML115 website)
So I want lots of RAM. 8GB.
Since 2GB ECC memory is expensive I want to use much cheaper non-ECC memory.
I know motherboards with the MCP55S chipset that accept non-ECC RAM.
Does the ML115 accept non-ECC RAM too?

Here's what is recommended by HP:

For optimum performance & stability.

Re: Will ML115 (ML1XX servers) accept non ECC memory?

I saw what memory HP recommends.
That's VERY expensive.
That's why I'm asking.

BUT yesterday I saw Kingston ValueRAM non-buffered ECC DDR2 667Mhz that's half the price. I probably get that as a proper compromise. 8GB ECC for about 370Euro. Sounds good to me.

So I rephrase my question:
(I know it's not recommended, but) is any running Kingston ECC ValueRAM in their Proliant?

Yes, you will see MANY users with Kingston DIMMs on HP servers.

Re: Will ML115 (ML1XX servers) accept non ECC memory?

FYI FWIW.

Running over 2 months 100% stable and fast with 6GB Kingston DDR2 800 ValueRAM.
It's a blast as well with ESX 3.0.2 and since a week with ESX 3.5. Running multiple VM's including 2 memory hungry Exchange 2007 servers :)
