Will our hp proliant ml330 g6 server be able to run 3 virtual servers

Hi Anyone

Our school wants to virtualize using Windows Server Datacenter.  Is our HP proliant ml330 g6 servers ok to use for our virtualization.  We currently have 2 ml330's.  We will also have a 100 users logged on at any given time.  Any experience will be much appreciated.  Thanks!

well you would still at least need the performance required by the two ML330 on the new singular ML330 G6.

So enough CPU, RAM, disk iops, network, etc. 

I think some kind of measurement/baseline of what your current setup uses on a normal day (and on a day with heavy usage?) would be a good start.

When VMWare started they had a service where they did a baseline for you and told which machines would work together as virtual machines inside a physical machine.

Unsure if they still do or if Microsoft has one.

You should be careful not to put several VMs in a machine and then be surprised when it can't handle the load.
