Win 2000 Server Installation problem

I bought this refurbished computer and a 36.4 GB Wide Ultra 3 SCSI. When I tried to install WIn2000 server to it, everything went ok until step 2 (register components) of the final screen. Here it stuck (hanged) at about 70% done. I left it there for hours and it won't budge. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

is there ANY third party hardware in the system? if so remove it ..run erase..and rerun the setup..then after it is up install the third party hardware...
you could also try updating the roms on the system..
