Win 2k pro or XP pro Compaq Proliant 800 dual pent pro 200s?
Anyone have success installing w2k pro or XP pro on a Compaq Proliant 800
(p02) with dual pent pro 200s with both processors recognized?
I can get XP and 2k to install. Hardware Manager reports the system as a
"standard pc." Attempting to run setup and change to a multiprocessor
setting hangs the computer
Attempting to install nt4 and selecting the MPS config results in these
errors:
HAL: mp_ptr invalid checksum
HAL: mps mp structure not found
HAL: no mps table found
HAL: this hal.dll requires an MPS version 1.1 system.
So, this system must not be 1.1.
At boot, both cpus are recognized by the bios.
Most current bios available.
Any thoughts

Re: Win 2k pro or XP pro Compaq Proliant 800 dual pent pro 200s?
Update:
I was able to find and enable the APIC MP table in BIOS.
I installed XP pro choosing the MPS multiprocessor setting.
XP starts and identifies the computer as a multiprocessor.
But: Sandra indicates "No APIC detected fo MP system."
Sandra's CPU test indicates this system' performance is similar to a dual 200 pro system.
Other CPU/system test tools appear to not find the 2nd cpu.
Any guidence about the missing APIC. Any recommended tools for testing?
