Windows 2000 don't recognize second processor on Proliant ML530

After adding a second 933 Mhz to a Proliant ML530 Server, the Windows 2000 SP4 don't recognize the processor, although the processor is show during start up on Bios information.

I have already update ROM bios to P17.

Carlos:

You need to upgrade the HAL driver under mycomputer in device manager.

Before you do that; also need to check the APIC mode in the Bios and make sure it is set to Full Table.

If this is NT4:
Can use this file from HP; and has good help file that will explain to you about the APIC mode etc.

HAL Upgrade/Recovery Tool version 1.0 D (5 Apr 02) http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/evoworkstation/us/download/14178.html

If you have multiprocessor HAL already installed; under task manager check to make sure you are using "one graphe per cpu".

Tarek.
