Windows 2000 hangs when updating the Sys Config Utility

Model:- Compaq Proliant 6500

I have two partitions setup one for NT4.0 and the other for 2000 Server. If I update the OS in the System Configuration Utility then 2000 server just hangs at the CTRL ALT DEL screen. When I update the System Config it changes one of the IRQ settings from 9 to 10. Any ideas.

hi craig

try this:

1) reboot

2) press f10 for system partition tools

3) in main menu press CTRL-A

4) select hardware configuration

5) look for MPS or APIC submenu

6) try both: full table / full table mapped

this may help
