Windows 2000 (non-server version) load on a DL380
I've a Proliant DL380 that I'd like to use as a single-user instrument controller. Is there a way to load Windows 2000, XP, etc - the non-server versions - on the DL380? SmartStart refuses to let me continue with the non-server version of 2000.

Re: Windows 2000 (non-server version) load on a DL380
HP does not support "desktop" operating systems on "server" boxes. This issue has come up with us in regards to running XP on DL140s.
I suggest you make your needs known to your salesperson.

isnt it possible to run smart start to setup the array, then exit and boot with the os cd. the problem would be whether the individual drivers accept to install on win2k
