Windows 2000 on Proliant 800

I am not familiar at all with servers so this might be a stupid question... :-o Is it possible to install Windows 2000 on a Proliant 800? To act as a standalone computer, not as a server?

Re: Windows 2000 on Proliant 800

Thanx for the links... but since I'm not familiar with all those drivers and controllers, I get a bit confused . I downloaded "ProLiant Support Pack for Microsoft Windows 2000". Will that install all support for W2K or do I need to create a SmartStart CD as well? It's just that I don't know what to do first ;-}.

Re: Windows 2000 on Proliant 800

Thanks, I got Win2000 running :-)
Only thing that puzzles me, is why I can't get the display show more than 256 colors? The ATI driver should support true color? Or not?

Do you have pcanywhere installed? This is a common problem with the ATI chipset.

If you do, then uninstall it, install the ATI drivers, then reinstall pcanywhere.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..
