Windows 2003 Server 64 bit version

Hello,

I have a DL 360 G5 with 8 GB of RAM installed. I am going through the smart start now, and when asked to choose Operating System, there wasn't an option for 32 or 64 bit versions. I'm using Smart Start that came with server (8.0). So, I chose 2003 R2 Standard. I then popped in my OS CDs, and smart start alerted me that this was the incorrect server discs. Any advice? Why doesn't this smart start distinguish between 32 and 64 bit versions?

SmartStart does distinguish, and you apparently have the 32-bit SmartStart. Go to http://www.hp.com --> Software and Driver Downloads and enter SmartStart and follow down the tree...

"HP SmartStart Maintenance Single Release Software" --> "Download drivers and software" --> Select either "Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for 64-bit Extended Systems" or "Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x64" --> "HP SmartStart CD x64"
