Re: Windows 2003 and CIM 5.50

I would really, really recommend upgrading to the new Systems Insight Manager (SIM). The old CIM has been gone for a long time, and it is outdated technology.

The new SIM has so many better features, and is the officially supported and recommended way to go for the future. As you get new OS and hardware, do not expect CIM 5.5 to support it, as it is simply too old to be updated.

It might be extra work to upgrade your servers to SIM, but it is a waaaay better product and it will defintely be beneficial for the long term. And it's still free...

here is the link to SIM

and the SIM agents

Re: Windows 2003 and CIM 5.50

Mario,

Check you SMNP settings on win2K3 server.

Default they doesn't accept packets from any host.

This shoul'd work.

I also like CIM 5.5 to monitor server.
No strugle with java. ;-)

Greetzzz.

That and you need pretty much a dedicated station (server / PC) with lots of horsepower and memory. Not many of my customers want to but a seperate PC with a gig of RAM just for this 1 task (we're talking SMB customers here).

Same problem here. Where to change SMNP settings on the server?

Re: Windows 2003 and CIM 5.50

Stupid me. I used HP System Management to change SMNP.
