Windows 2008 Enterprise Server on Proliant DL 380 G4
I just installed Microsoft Windows 2008 Enterprise on a Proliant DL 380 G4 with 6GB of RAM and dual 3.8GHz XEON processors each with 1MB L2 Cache. I also installed the latest support pack yet all the fans in the system are running at max speed like the system is heavily processing something. When I restart the server it only goes as far as shutting it down but can not automatically start it. I have to manually power the box off and power it back on. I looked in the firmware updates and do not see anything relating to this unless I missed it.
Has anyone experianced this? I am currently downloading the Maintenance Firmware CD hoping it will fix the problem. Also installing the Updates from Microsoft for Windows 2k8 updates services.
Best
Alex
