Re: Windows 2008 R2 Server Installation in HP Pro Liant ML10 Gen 9
This is all I could find regarding compatability:
Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) is supported by HPE an all HPE ProLiant Servers when utilizing Service Pack 1 only.

Re: Windows 2008 R2 Server Installation in HP Pro Liant ML10 Gen 9
There were two notes listed on the certification page for the the ML10 and 2008 R2
- 2 Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) is supported by HPE an all HPE ProLiant Servers when utilizing Service Pack 1 only.
- 3 ProLiant Gen9 servers using Intel®'s "Skylake" Xeon® E3 v5 CPUs are not certified and supported for Windows Server® 2008 R2 as per Microsoft's certification policy Windows Server® 2008 R2 has already transitioned to extended support.

Re: Windows 2008 R2 Server Installation in HP Pro Liant ML10 Gen 9
Hi!
Which boot mode are the server configured with UEFI or Legacy BIOS?
If the server is in Boot Mode UEFI you need to disable Uefi Optimized Boot to get windows 2008 r2 to work.
