Windows 2K fails to boot after adding second SCSI Drive
I'm working on a Proliant ML330 G2 with Windows 2000 Professional OS installed. I added a second SCSI hard drive. The original hard drive SCSI ID is 0 and the second hard drive ID is set to 1. When trying to boot the usual "Starting Windows" message appears, but the system hangs at this point and I am unable to enter Windows. I tried to enter Windows through Safe Mode, but was not able to. I would appreciate any suggestions as to where I am going wrong. Many thanks.

Re: Windows 2K fails to boot after adding second SCSI Drive
hi,
do you have any raid setup? How many scsi hard drives installed right now? try to restart the system without the new hard drive.
Thanks

Re: Windows 2K fails to boot after adding second SCSI Drive
Does the drive appear in the SCSI bus scan results next to the original drive?
Are you sure the drive is functional? Spins Up when the SCSI is scanned?
I have you tried just letting it sit there? Windows could be waiting for a resonse from the drive that is not happening.
If nothing, try the new drive alone. See if it is accessable
