Windows Defrag Utility Not Working

I installed a trial version of Norton360 on my windows xp pro computer. 360 was great; it did everything from remember passwords to maintain the integrity of my computer, registry, and hard drive. Problem is, once the trial period was over and I removed 360, my windows defrag utility no longer worked. I click on the analyze button and nothing happens. I click on the defrag button and nothing happens. Somehow 360 disabled this utility. How do I enable it again?
