Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM and Proliant DL580 G4
I am unable to install the Insight Agents and Insight Diagnostics on DL380 G4, DL380 G5, and DL580 G4.
The message is failed dependancy on the ILO or ILO2 Advanced System Management driver. This has been tested using Proliant Support Pack X64 8.30 (Released today, 9/14).
When I manually try to install the required missing component, it says that it is not supported for installation on this operating system.
OS is Windows 2008 R2 X64 Enterprise RTM.
Any ideas? It's sad to think that system management via Insight Agents is not possible on this new OS.

Re: Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM and Proliant DL580 G4
I found a solution to this.
Ensure that you download the R2 release of 8.3, not the std 8.3 release.
I beleive I found the real R2 release of 8.3 via a BL460C blade, and choosing Windows Server 2008 R2 as the OS.
In order to fulfill the pre-req errors, make sure that you have installed SNMP feature on Windows 2008 R2 OS. Then, download the X64 Windows 2008 R2 softpaw containing the Insight Agents, ILO System Management Driver (or ILO2 Advanced System Management Driver).
The trick to this, is that you must extract those softpaqs, and then run in Windows 2008 SP1 Compatibility mode. This will allow the pre-reqs to install successfully. After you have installed these paqs, or at least one of them, you should be able to run the PSP 8.3 R2 setup and have it complete successfully.
I have my DL380 G4, DL380 G5, and DL580 G4's all running the proper 8.3 R2 Proliant Support Pack with no problems whatsoever.
I have not tackled NIC Teaming yet, though.

Re: Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM and Proliant DL580 G4
hi Will.
thanks for the tip.
finally we got this Management Driver CP010914.exe which is NOT Part of the R2 PSP installed in compatibility mode.
after installing this we have been able to install the R2 PSP without issues.
thanks again.
Michael
