Windows Server 2012 and SAS/SATA controller drivers.

Question - I am upgrading the firmware/software on a DL380 g6 running WS2012, and I have a question on one of the updates to install using the Updated HP PSP for Windows Server 2012. 

I started hpsum.exe, and on the select component display, I am given the option to install the HP ProLiant Smart Array SAS/SATA Controller Driver for Windows Server 2008 x64 Edition.  The available version is 6.24.0.64.   There is no installed version listed on the screen display, which leaves me a bit puzzled.    This to me means there is no inbox driver for Windows Server 2012.  Is that correct?

Next, will the 2008 x64 driver version work well for performance work on WS2012, or should I wait for a newer version of the driver that is built for WS2012?
