Windows Server installation on a Raid volume DL385 G7/P410i
Hello folks,
i would like to install a Windows Server on a Proliant Server DL385 G7. I have configured a single hard drive on the P410i raid controller and set it up as a bootable drive. The raid controller is also configured in the BIOS as the first controller in the boot order. I start the Windows setup via a bootable USB stick which works without problems. During the setup routine I can see the configured drive, partition it or delete a partition. What I cannot do is select this drive as installation media because it is not bootable. With the command line tool DISKPART I can see that this drive is a "removable disk". I know from experience that you cannot do a Windows Server installation on such a disk. Now I have the question how to create a drive/volume with the raid controller which is not recognized as removable disk and on which Windows Server can be installed.
For good tips I thank you in advance!
Regards
Karsten
