Windows XP and Compaq Proliant 1600R

Hello,

I have a Compaq Proliant 1600R with 2x500 PIII processors. I was running Windows Server 2003 however there is specific software I need to run which doesn't support a server platform as yet. Until the manufacturer releases their Server compatible version, I am stuck with using XP Professional.

XP installs no problem, however it doesn't not recognize that there as 2 cpus and Device Manager only reports it as a standard (non-MPS) system.

Any ideas as to how to get XP to recognize the 2nd CPU? Because I have verified that XP Pro supports it.

Thanks in advance!!!

Cheers

Try changing your HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer)
