Windows server 2003 or 2008 on ML115 - which best?

Please bear with me asking these dumb questions but I have no IT help. Which, if either, of these two versions would work 'best' on a new ML115?

Both versions should run fine on the ML115 hardware. So it really depends what else you are going to run on this box. Are the applications you are planing to use, stable and supported under the specific windows version? Are you going to add any more hardware to the server? Such as fiber HBAs for SAN storage or tape drives? What about other system related software such as backup software etc. All these should be taken into consideration when deciding which windows version to install. The same is true before installing any major windows patches or service packs.

Re: Windows server 2003 or 2008 on ML115 - which best?

Thanks Ttr. The recent I thought of the question was because, in response to one of your previous answers suggesting I look at the 'Download drivers and software', a lot of the supporting software seems to be "........for Windows Server 2003", e.g.

HP ProLiant Smart Array SAS/SATA Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003

and nothing much "......... for Windows Server 2008". Why is this?

There are Win2008 drivers under Small business and foundation edition. I would guess that the win2003 drivers would work OK in Win2008 too.
