Wires can be cut.
If you put a smart array 4200 in SLOT # 1 and run the scsi cable to it from the drive cage. There is a good chance you will cut the scsi cable when removing the top cover. Ther are two metal hinges from the HOT-PLUG door that hang straight down. These hinges will cut the cable. Open the hot-plug door before you slide off the top cover. You should be able to see the hinge rub on the cable. Compaq is aware: Case # NA001201031098.

Thank you for this information. We are investigating the problem you have reported. When a permanent solution is determined, Compaq Engineering will probably release a customer advisory.
