adding drives to SYS volume

I have a customer that has a Proliant 1600 with a Compaq Array controller 221 and would like to add another 9.1 gig 10k Hot swap drive to their system and increase the SYS volume size. Can I do this or do I have to reformat and repartition the Novell partition and recreate SYS voiume on the server. Can I do this with the CPQONLIN utility as well or do I have to use NWCONFIG. Thanks.

Re: adding drives to SYS volume

You cannot expand an array, using the SA221 controller. You must start over from the beginning. Meaning, that you should backup data, run the COMPAQ System Erasure Utility on the hard drive, add new hard drive to server and configure the array the way you want. Afterwards install operating System and restore data from backup.
