adding eSATA to DL380 G5
I'd like to add an eSATA port or two (with port multiplier capability) to a standard vanilla DL380 G5. I assume a 2-port PCIe card should do the trick. Any recommendations for a specific brand or chipset, words of wisdom?
TIA

Hello Alex, sorry I can't answer your question but I'd like to achieve the same thing. Did you ever get any answer or did you find any working adapter. Thanks

Re: adding eSATA to DL380 G5
I just didn't get to it yet - pretty sure a basic PCIe Adapter with an eSATA port will work just fine - but I never got around to installing one.
Can't decide whether I should get a SAS adapter with an external miniSAS connection instead (which also should support SATA drives) - because of much higher overall throughput.
Still planning on doing one or the other though. :)
