alert light on DL 580
Hi I have a HP ProLiant DL580 G2 Server and an external array for hard drives. The last light with a triangle and ! mark init, is glowing.
But the server has oracle on it and seems to be working fine.
Does anyone have an idea what could that be for and how do I check.
Please advise. Thanks in advance

Re: alert light on DL 580
Did you installed the HP insight agents on the server? Then you can check the system event log, or from a browser connect to http://server-name:2301 address, login and you'll see what is going on in the server.

Re: alert light on DL 580
Hi,
I assume you mean the LED on the 4300/4400 storage shelf (See attached image). If so, go round the back and see if one of the power supply/fan assembly fault lights is on. Another source for this error is when someone has put an RJ45 network cable into the EMU port thinking it's a network device. This is only for serial connection to an LCD panel in the tower model. If there is a network cable in the EMU port, remove it. Other sources are bad disk (fault light should be on the disk), EMU or SCSI I/O module problems (less likely).
I hope this helps,
Brian
