artition proböem with Compaq Proliant ML370

Our client has a Compaq Proliant ML370 server with an Integrated Smart Array Controller and six 72 GB SCSI hard drives. Operating system is Windows NT 4. Currently, NT disk Administrator has lost all the data partitions, showing only the system partition (C:). Also Disk Administrator reports the size of the free space on the array to be 1618823 MB.

However, all the partitions are working and can be mapped over network.

This has happened once before, after a power cut. That time the partitions really were lost after server restart and had to be rebuilt. I am afraid that also now a restart wiil permanently delete the partitions.

What may be the cause of this? A hardware problem?

Hello Mikko,

You might want to update the system BIOS as well as the firmware of the integrated smart array controller if this is not done already. Here is the link just in case you need it.
