backing out softpaq updates
Hi, I'm involved in a project to update all of our ml370's and G2's with the latest compaq drivers in a drive to get insight manager 7 up and running. (we're looking at about 75 boxes to update all told). However management won't accept an RFC for the project until I can assure them that we have a contingency plan for backing out the software. It doesn't look like there is anything in the softpaq to support rolling back to the old drivers, so is the only solution to take a backup just before implementation and restore this if everything goes wrong ?
thanks,
Jake
thanks,

Re: backing out softpaq updates
I should mention that we are looking to perform the softpaq update from the smart start 5.40 disc. I have briefly looked into creating a repository server and using the version control manager, but once again there doesn't appear to be anything in the documentation concerning backing out a change.
