bonding on a DL360-G7 using cisco 2940 switches.

We see constant flapping on the interfaces and times out on the servers themselves.

Poking around and doing some research all of this seems to be related to the Broadcom NetXreme chipsets. I seen some posts about turning off MSI and we tried this but still see flapping.

RedHat, RHEL5/6 latest kernel.

Has anyone else experienced this, or found a work around? This not working is something that would make us stop buying HP.

Maybe it's the configuration? Are you using some kind of trunking/teaming? Tried deactivate it? Got LACP/STP activated on the ports on the switch?

Done any actual network analysis or just trying to ping it?

On all your DL360-G7? Checked firmwares / drivers?

Re: bonding on a DL360-G7 using cisco 2940 switches.

We have most of our servers in this configuration and It seems only the NetXtreme nics cause this issue of flapping.

The firmware on the G7 are latest available. When we deactivate it and undo the bonding (but leave both nics plugged in with ips on them problem goes away). We turn bonding on they start flapping. We are using link status as the config in bonding.

We are looking at the CISCO logs generate by the switch.
