can the asset tag be updated from windows without rebooting the server?

Hello,
I want to update the asset tags in my Proliant server.
Is there a way to update the asset tag from windows without rebooting the server?
(Restarting a production server to change an asset tag is hardly possible)

I am not sure about your proliant server model but here is a windows application for writing asset tag.

This solution if for the external display,
I'm looking for a solution to update the bios asset tag (for ml370 or dl360 servers)

Hi Oren,

I have searched thoughout hp internal/external sites and unfortunatly i cannot find any tool to aid you in changing your System Bios asset tag.

The only true way to change the asset tag is to do this during your systems maintenance cycle (if you have this) or plan an out of hours restart.
