cant instal Windows 2003 Server on DL320G2 with ATA raid

We can not pick Windows 2003 as an OS to instal using Smart Start 7.80.. Looks to be greyed out ?? Should we be using 7.90 rev ? How about server bios ? Please advise on this.. Its an ATA raid system with 2 x 160 gb drives set up as a raid1 set...

thanks

Hi George,

Only SCSI and SAS are supported by smart start cd will have to manually install the OS.

Cheers :)

Sammy is correct. You will need to install the OS manually from the CD and not from the SmartStart. Just get all the drives you think you will need for the IDE RAID Controller, Network card and anything else that may not exist on the 2003 database and load them in the first part of the install when asked for Other Drivers.
Most of the basic things will already be part of 2003

Re: cant instal Windows 2003 Server on DL320G2 with ATA raid

Hello all...

I did forge ahead and opt to start a build with out using the SmartStart CD.. Things are going well.. boots fine to the ATA mirror set, network drivers are good/working. ( doing windows update now after the Win 2003 Server build..) Question for you all.. Should I install the HP V7.90 Support pack after all the Microsoft patch work is completed ?

thanks again..
