cdrom
my pc says "cant find cdrom/dvdrom device" but i used to play them, i may have erased it and no device is shown on my system devices just some numbers, my system is compaq nx9010 notebook

Assuming you have windows 2000 or XP I'd go into device manager and uninstall any devices listed under CDROM.
When you reboot the OS should discover the CD-Rom (if it is mechanically sound) and install the drivers for you.
If not, use "Add hardware" from the control panel or the notebooks installation CD to reinstall the CDROM.
