My compaq prolaint Server restarts automatically.

Os : NT Terminal server 4.0

Hi,

Does your system restarts before OS is launched? or after OS been loaded?

If it happens prior to OS load from hard disk, you might want to check your firmware date.

if it happens after OS load, please provide little more info.

if possible disable ASR on the server for testing. then check it. check for the IML logs of the server.

Hi Vinothkumar,

I would monitor event log file for hardening process and if you can run Swhardening_NT4.bat file line at a time, you can isolate the cause of system to reboot.

1- Disable ASR from RBSU -> Done?
2- Downlaod latest SmartStart and reboot with it, check IML. -> Done?
3- Check the Windows Event Viewer -> Done?
4- Download and update latest firmware (Firmware CD) and Drivers (PSP) for everything. What G is your server? G2,G3

5- Run Server Diagnostics from S.S. any question or exclamation mark on any hardware?

6- Uncover the server, is there any amber or red LED? Check the cover diagrams.
