compaq service that controls fan

I installed NT 4.0 using Smart Start and all was working well, when the NOS loaded the fan would slow down. I installed Raptor Firewall and it disabled some "network services". Now the fan will not slow down. What service do I load or start?

The Compaq System Management driver is the piece that gets installed from Smart Start from the NTSSD that controls the fan speed. Go to NT Control Panel and look for it under the "Devices" applet. Note: it is not under the "services" applet. It should be set to "System". If it has been disabled, you should be able to start it here. If it doesn't start automatically, then you may have to re-install it by running the NTSSD again from your smartstart CD.
