Re: cooler for HP ProLiant DL385 G1

hi

something else I forgot after updating System ROM and if the issue continues also try swapping processors there is something for Processors called stepping is like versions(enhancements) for processors
so the recommendation is install processor with lowest stepping in slot 1.

check these 2 links
Support For AMD Opteron Processors With Mixed CPU Stepping Levels In ProLiant Servers
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01209579тМй=en&cc=us&taskId=101&prodSeriesId=428936&prodTypeId=15351

stepping

so
try update System ROM
if continue swap processors

and let us know

Re: cooler for HP ProLiant DL385 G1

I can reboot server only saturday morning, (after 2* one hour or travel), so I cannot do a lot of test.
Reading http://www.cpu-world.com/info/id/AMD-K8-identification.html#Opteron_OEM_processors, both OST265FAA6CB and OSA265FAA6CB have the same stepping (CB at end mean E6). CpuZ.exe from http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php show "JH9-E6" for the OST265FAA6CB . Everest show "JH-E6"

The only different (the third letter, T in the processeur actually on the server, A in the other) is about power(tdp). I'll try find an
OST265FAA6CB

Re: cooler for HP ProLiant DL385 G1

the correct link is http://www.cpu-world.com/info/id/AMD-K8-identification.html#Opteron_OEM_processors for processor specification.

Thank you a lot Karlo for the reference for the HP cooler and the HP PPM. Without this reference, we were not able to add the second CPU.
