could not be authenticated as a genuine HPE drive
I know this has been around but it doesn't seem to make any sense. I can have the exact same model drive in the same system and some of them complain and some of them do not.
I have a P408i-p SR Gen 10 in a ML110 Gen10 server. These are the drives and their bays:
Bay Drive Firmware Status
1 HP EG0600FCVBK HPD5 GOOD
2 HP EG0600FCVBK HPD5 UNAUTHENTICATED
3 HP EG0600FCVBK HPD5 UNAUTHENTICATED
4 HP EG0600FCVBK HPD5 GOOD
5 HP EG0600FCVBK HPD5 UNAUTHENTICATED
6 HP EG0600FCSPL HPD2 UNAUTHENTICATED
It doesn't really make sense that Bay 1 and 4 are good when the others are not.
P.S: HP why are you going to include an editor on your form that allows you to use tables but then you don't allow the post to go through because it has "invalid HTML". Come on.

Re: could not be authenticated as a genuine HPE drive
Hello,
In this situation, I would suggest the below steps.
1. Update the SAS expander firmware with the latest if connected.
2.Check/update SA P408i-p SR firmware with the latest.
3.If the issue still persist suspected hard drive caddy needs to be replaced.
